Digital & Physical Modelling Workshop


Morphogenesis, is a four days intensive design and modeling workshop to be held in Binus University Jakarta during the week of September 13-16.

Over the course of three days participants will have competitive, intensive, workshop within Binus University. Participants will develop projects through iterative workflows with an emphasis on digital and physical modeling as a vehicle for design innovation. Students from the second until the last year of the architecture program will collaborate in teams completing components to create structural form within the University building, from sketch design to full scale construction.

The format of the workshop includes daily instructional, design and fabrication sessions. The primary CAD platform will be Auto Cad, Sketch Up, 3D Max and other 3D modelling softwares. The workshop will culminate in a public exhibition at the Bynamic Festival at Binus School BSD Serpong on the 17 September 2011(*) and on the first week of the odd semester at Syahdan Campus.

Q: What level of experience should I have?
A: All interested Binus University architecture students from the second year to the final year.

Q: What should I bring?
A: You should bring a Laptop (if you have one) capable of running Windows or Macintosh and as well as any electrical adapters or accessories that you require. Camera and the cable transfer to the computer or laptop are also needed. You also should bring modelling equipments such as scissors, cutter, steel rulers, marker, etc.

Q: Will software be made available?
A: Yes, Auto Cad, Sketch up, and sketch up plugins will be made available.

A: How much is the workshop fee?
Q: Registration pricing is Rp.50.000,-

A: Does my fee include modelling material costs?
Q: Yes, basic material costs and workshop certificate are covered by the Registration Fee.
